A Civil Service Examination for the positions of:

Full -Time and Part -Time Police Officers

To Be Given On Saturday February 25, 2012

Position:

Description: Will perform police work and protect life and property through the enforcement of Village and State ordinances. Police Officers may work week-ends, overtime, Holidays and variable shifts. The Village of Reminderville Police Department Officers have many opportunities for specialized training and experience. Qualified individuals within the Department have the opportunity to specialize in several different career paths: Patrol, Bike Patrol, Narcotics, Detective, S.W.A.T., Juvenile, K-9, Community Policing, Youth Services, and Warrant Unit. Starting Rates of Pay: FULL-TIME = $23.04 per hour PART-TIME = $17.05 per hour

Qualifications:

Age: Applicant must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.

Education: High school graduate. Certificate of high school equivalent (GED) is acceptable.

Residency: Applicant must be a United States citizen at time of appointment. Village of Reminderville residency not required.

Appointment: Possession of a valid motor vehicle Operator's license at time of application and a valid Ohio motor vehicle Operator's license at time of appointment. A valid Ohio Police Officer Training Academy certification is required at the time of appointment.

Physical: Applicant must meet and maintain physical fitness and medical standards in accordance to the Village of Reminderville Police Departments policies. Vision must be correctable to at least 20/20 and have normal color vision. Hearing must be normal.

Other: Prior to appointment the applicant will be subject to oral interview, physical agility tests, psychological examination, physical examination, and an extensive background investigation. The background investigation will include a polygraph examination covering honesty, falsification, family history, employment history, military history, traffic, gambling, criminal acts, substance abuse, and credit history.

Test:

Testing: To pass the written test a minimum raw score of 70% is required. Ten points will be added to the raw score for military credit for those who pass the written test.

Applicants must attach a copy of their DD-214 form to the application showing an "Honorable Discharge" to receive military credit. Current Reminderville part-time Police officers in good standing who pass the examination will have ten extra points added to their raw score.

Location: Reminderville Fire Station, 3382 Glenwood Blvd, Reminderville, Ohio

ID Required: Photo ID required for entrance to the written exam.

Applications:

Applications may be picked up from February 6 through 22, 2012 Mon-Fri from 8:30am to 4:00pm at the Reminderville Village Municipal Center, 3382 Glenwood Blvd, Reminderville, Ohio. Completed applications must be returned in person to the Village Hall by no later than 4:00pm on Wednesday February 22, 2012.

Fee: A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) CASH ONLY, NON-REFUNDABLE fee must be paid when the application is picked up.

Return with the completed application a copy of a current driver's license and the DD-214 if applicable.
